Not for hygienic reasons, but for 'other' reasons like to prevent transferring energies...?

In a sense this is still "for hygienic reasons" - just shifting the focus from 'germs' to 'energy-patterns'

many healers (spiritual or otherwise), are of the belief that on one level, washing the hands before treatment is about preventing the transfer of the healers's "stuff" to the client.

I wash my hands before and after purely for hygienic reasons..... I was taught during healer development that washing the hands helps you 'disconnect' from the recipient...... when offereing Reiki on a one to one basis.....I 'step into' a healing space which emcompasses myself and the recipient with an open connection tothe the Divine..........ONE energy ONE space.... when the session is over there is a natural, coming back down into the physical body as a seperate self.... then I 'step out' of the healing space...

no need to wash my hands to mentally disconnect, no need to do any dry bathing... before or after.....( my experience)

Rituals.....I'm of the opinion that all sacred rituals which have been acted out over the centuries throughout the various spiritual and religious traditions....serve one purpose only, and that is to create the appropriate conditions which allows for consciousness expansion........and connection to the divine...

what we see now as 'sacred rituals' in many traditions are no more than empty repetitive acts which have no soul..... the soul connection is lost....... a complete oxymoron in practice ahahahah

During my induction yesterday it was impressed on me that I have to wash my hands before treating each client. Not a quick rinse under the tap, either: properly, up the arms and under the nails if you please.

This is proper infection control procedure and is to be expected in a hospice or other health centre. However, with the winter infections expected, surely the least we can do as healers is to cleanse our hands with antibacterial gel before and after each client?

I feel quite strongly about this, as my grandmother died because her carer gave her flu, which in Nan's case turned into fatal pneumonia.

    I believe so!
That's what magic is all about, from the altar to the clothes, to the choice of candles and ingredients and words used in chants!
All the deliberate choices intensifies the intention and the focus.

It's the same sort of principle as symbols being imbued with power by those who access them. (I think it may arise from Gnostic thought but I've not gone into it recently.)

WOW, i actually love that theory!

The care home I worked in had anti-bacterial gel in every room!! it was and is imperative that all carers and visitors used it upon entry and leaving the rooms..

MRSA and other nasties are rife!

I withdrew from the public to finish some projects, and consequentially went through many unexpected changes. Besides, that pic was almost a year old, so I thought I would upload a new one (but haven't made the new one yet).
