    What is Reiki!

    The human body is a bio electro mechanical machine and as such produces an electromagnetic effect.

    The external affect many call the Aura. The internal energy centres are called the Chakras.

    Reiki is simply the manipulation of these electromagnetic effects.

    I prefer to say "balance" or "harmonise" rather than "manipulate" Smile

    Also, although Reiki balances these "electromagnetic effects" I think it also balances the body, mind and spirit.

    I've never quite thought of it in that way, but I suppose it can be seen to embody that effect.

    Whatever IT chooses to be, for any given individual, at any particular point in their journey.

    (And as many of us have discovered, what Reiki chooses to be for the individual can be subject to dramatic change without notice)

    here here!! Reiki is subjective to each individual and far more profound and far reaching than anyone of us could ever express... I love you

    to say 'Reiki is simply the manipulation of these electro magnetic effects'...is to ( in my view and experience) completey underestimate the power, potential and glory of Divine energy in action....

    Reiki ( in my view and experience)is SPIRITUAL ~~~~ in every sense that that conveys... to reduce this energy to a simple scientific 'electromagnetic' force, is completely missing it's heart and soul ...

    There is spoken of chakra's and aura's but what about the three tanden (dantien) or oceans of ki. Is there a part in reiki for these field of energy?

    Hi Silverbolt,

    Yes, most certainly! Chakras and the aura were not part of the original teachings of The Reiki system, they are an add-in. Some styles of Reiki do utilise the 3 Tanden or dantien though.

    I think today it's still largely a matter of personal preference... how do you choose to see (to label) the energy as it flows through your system?

    So you are saying that every energy form is exactly the same but named differently?

    Because in my point of view the energy used in kundalini is extremely different than the energy pulled from the tanden.

    No I am saying that there are many styles of Reiki practice all of which involve the use of Reiki, which can have an influence on various types of subtle energy as well as the body and mind.

    Kundalini energy is definitely not the same as Reiki.

    And. if something like quantum touch (or many other systems) uses a process that is different from Reiki. And also seesm to have different trends in the experience. Yet claims to be universal energy....

    Isn't is it a bit lacking Reiki is termed ULE when there are more specific ways to describe it?
