    Reiki Shares

Post by Pachamama on Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:10 pm

to all the teachers on here...

what do you offer at a Reiki share?- Reiju Kai ( how do you organise this? do you think it important that all your students come to your reiki shares?

to students who have been to reiki shares...

what has happened at your reiki shares...

do you go over material learnt in previous levels?
    do you receive Reiju again?
do you draw the symbols in the air to 'clear' the space?
does your teacher 'clear the space' using some other method?
do you practice on multiple people and receive reiki from multiple people?
what do you feel are the benefits of attending reiki shares?
what do you feel is missing and would like to see added at your reiki shares?
do you feel supported by your Reiki teacher?

what questions would you like to see asked and answered?

    Very Happy

    Hi Sharon

Firstly, Reiju Kai and Reiki Share can mean slightly different things Smile

A Reiju Kai is normally where students of a certain style (this term is most commonly used in Jikiden Reiki) meet with at least one Teacher (Shihan) or Assistant Teacher (Shihan Kaku) for the purposes of receiving Reiju and going over some aspect or aspects of what they have learned during a Shoden (Level 1) or Okuden (Level 2) seminar - as well as practising Reiki on each other. It is great way to pick up little tips and snippets of information that may not have been discussed at you particular seminar.

My understanding of a Reiki Share is an open group for any Reiki practitioner to attend for the purposes of giving and receiving a Reiki session in a group setting. There may also be some form of group meditation and an opportunity to share experiences and ask questions. It is not necessary for the organiser to be a Reiki teacher and in some Reiki shares, participants each take a turn at organising the shares. Some may also have an invited speaker to talk about an aspect of Reiki or something related to Reiki or spirituality in general. At some Reiki Shares, if it is organised by a Teacher, Reiju may also be given but this will be in the form of a general Reiki blessing rather than linked to a specific style of Reiki.

While I don't say that attending Reiki Shares is a requirement for Reiki practitioners, I would say that it is beneficial from the point of view of meeting other Reiki practitioners and gaining experience, particularly for new student or practitioners who don't have clients on a regular basis. I think it is also important that Reiki practitioners receive Reiki sessions from others regularly as well as their daily self-treatment. It is so nice to just lie there and be still and receive from another pair (or even better a group) of Reiki hands Smile

There are some Reiki Teachers of styles other than Jikiden Reiki who only hold Reiki shares for their own students but I would class those more as Reiju Kai as they are more geared for supporting students of a particular style of practice rather than general sharing of Reiki. Each have their own benefits. Smile

ahhh! intersting insights, thanks Colin!! cheers

My first Reiki teacher held shares for her students ( could be classed as Reiju Kai).... I only ever managed to attend one as most of them were so far away.

the only other share I ever attended was for practitioners of all styles from any teacher or lineage.. there was only four of us, and the other people there had all trained with the teacher who was organising the share..I found it an odd experience..

I might just have to start organising some shares in my area myself... and encourage the idea of different participants taking it in turn to host a share themself...this makes a lot more sense to me... I miss being around other healing folk....it's good for the soul. I love you
