Yes thanks Bridget, I'm quite aware of that. What I meant was Occult as in hidden knowledge.... And that there is a difference between sending kids to school where they learn "occult/sacred/secret" symbols and are initiated through the same means and coming home telling their parents they were initiated to some spiritaul system that icorporates healing with the use of secret symbols to kids going to school and learning visualisation techniques and the use of colour in therapy and healthy interaction with other kids and adults alike.... just my personal thoughts...
Reiki 1 does not introduce symbols.
Secret symbols is an issue I have
always thought to be elitist. I
always taught my elementary students
that secrets are not good unless its
a secret birthday party or a gift that
will be opened shortly. Secrets should
never be forever.
I went to an all girl Catholic school
& was throughly versed in symbols,icons
and rituals. I see your point about public
schools teaching alternative health but I
believe that at least in high school it should
be mentioned that other healing modalities
exist.
