My friend, Jane Butterworth and I have formed a partnership we call Seishin (Pure Mind or True Spirit) Jikiden Reiki.

We are going to be teaching a Jikiden Reiki Shoden Seminar on Saturday and Sunday 18-19th June, 2011 in Knutsford, Cheshire, UK.

This is an ideal opportunity to learn Reiki as it was taught by Chujiro Hayashi in the 1930s in Japan.

Yes, it will be a Jikiden Reiki Institute authorised seminar but, like many of the Jikiden Reiki teachers, we decided to have a name for our school!

So, Seishin Jikiden Reiki is not a sub-style of Jikiden Reiki, it is an authentic Jikiden Reiki Seminar being taught by Seishin Jikiden Reiki.

Oh boy, now I am completely confused!!I thought Jikiden was only asscotiated with Tado?? did you learn from Tado colin? He's coming to Edinburgh in July.

yeah, Colin's been taught by Tadao, and i'm fairly sure by Dan Simpson & his wife Rika (they're the UK Jikiden folks).

No need to be confused! As a Jikiden Reiki Shihan Kaku (Assistant Teacher) I can now teach Jikiden Reiki seminars at Shoden Level I.e. Level 1. So what I will be teaching on this seminar is Jikiden Reiki exactly as I was taught by Tadao Yamaguchi, I have received all my Jikiden Reiki training directly from Tadao both here in the UK and also Japan. Rika and Dan Simpson have also been around but Rika was there as interpreter and Dan was just helping out.

My friend and I who will be jointly teaching this Jikiden Reiki seminar just decided to call our partnership the Seishin School off Jikiden Reiki because we thought it was a nice name and reflects what we want to achieve - to teach Jikiden with a pure and sincere intent or heart, which is what Seishin means. So it is not a new style of Jikiden Reiki. As you said, Jikiden Reiki is Tadao Yamaguchi's style and this is what we will be passing on, in Knutsford in June.

ah! thanks for elaborating colin, I'd love to come along, but I'll be in Ibiza ( *sings* we're goin to ibee tha tha tha, ibee tha tha)on those dates. I've dropped an email off to Gisela Stewart, to see what availability is left in July for Edinburgh, probably fully booked by now, but nothing ventured.....

Oh, that's a shame but I'm sure you will enjoy Ibiza and the Jikiden Reiki seminar if you can get on it - well worth it especially as Tadao sensei will be there as well!
