It appears from a news story I have just read that scientists have been able to differentiate between a person actually speaking a sound and imagining the sound and are using such sounds to control a computer!

The sounds they are using are similar to kotodama (taught in some styles of Reiki to meditate with or use in place of, or to enhance symbols)...or at least the sounds ah, oo, eh and ee!
