She met a shaman and they talked about healing. She gave him distant healing and he said that she was a shaman/medicin woman, because she could do distant healing like him self. He had just never met anyone outside of his culture that could do that.

like every spiritual thing is not reiki, every healing act is not reiki, so likewise every distant healing work is not reiki... reiki, perhaps, don't hold the exclusive claim to remotely heal since we find distant healing at work in QT too, and as you said, in shamanic practices too... but this similarity does not mean that we can distant heal without HSZSN if we heal within reiki... it would be nearer to fact to say that when we are attuned to symbols, we are using their essence ever when we try to do things ascribed to them... they are within us, within our spirit, within our climate... their role is perhaps much more than 'opening up' to a frequency during our initiation moments...

No. I have read no Takata books...

It would seem to me, that some form of ritual/symbol/prayer, is usually a part of distance healing.
i have talked with people who believe that we have the power to do things like distant healing from birth. I believe this idea to be true. Yet not all of us can make the leap to realizing in our hearts this fact,so....devices rituals, prayers help some of us find our way to undiscovered abilities...or at least it would seem to me.

the box and take charge of our
own physical/emotional/spiritual
needs.
