Compassion...What does it mean to You...?

Post by Reikijim on Thu Aug 26, 2010 2:18 pm

    Hi

Since I got involved in Reiki, specifically Komyo, I`ve been interested in the nature of compasion. This link I will post, has a short read by a fellow we all know. It`s not that long and I feel this article to be of value to anyone who can understand it`s concepts.

    Hi,

I guess I posted in the wrong section...oops. I will try to not let it happen again, but being human and all who knows...lol...You can always move the post Smile

Yes the precepts do promote compassion...no doubt...yet no explination as to why compassion is important in practice and understanding. Hence my offering for those who need more. Smile

Good point Reikijim. As Reiki practitioners
we need to have good communication skills
that encompass compassion with our clients. sunny

Here's an excerpt from Matt laughlin a
    psychotherapist & relationship coach
Healthy communication in relationships is not possible without some understanding of what it really means to be compassionate. Without an awareness of the central elements of compassion, overcoming communication problems in relationships, or most any relationship difficulty for that matter, is all but impossible.

This doesn't mean we need to be as kind and understanding as the Dalai Lama to communicate effectively in a marriage or committed relationship.

But we do need to aspire to be compassionate.

    Hiya Jim

Compassion for me is just about everything, compassion for yourself, deeply healing, compassion for others, compassion for the path they and you have walked, joy and courage that they had the compassion to walk that path.

to hold compassion deep within your spirit, brings a true perspective of our existence, enlightening and highlighting our true path, individually and collectively, compassion is an energy that I connect strongly when I channel and work with Reiki.

    Hi Dharma,

A very beautiful post regarding your feeling of compassion.Very beautiful indeed.

I read something by a fellow, who is also, like you, wise and enlightened. The level of understanding he has, his view points, always make the complex so simple...a sign of tue wisdom.
He basically said, and apparently i needed to hear it personally, that without pain and suffering, the foundation of compassion could never exist. Such a wonderful, simple statement, regarding the "balance" of all things.

Obvious maybe to some, yet I still get benefits when people point out the obvious at times. Timing seems to be critical when learning some of the more important aspects of human existance...or...I could be a simpleton...Shocked...lol

compassion for me is treating others like i would myself. to feel their hurt as my own.

a strange thing that i must share here, my husband use to say that i am more with his enemies, spiritually and emotionally, rather than with him.Smile before reiki you were not so much but after coming into reiki you completely offer your sympathy to the enemy.

now, come to think of it i was more worried about the family etc and alway say that do not hate the person but just tell him you do not like his attitude. inside he , you and i are from the same source.
