How would you use Reiki when someone gets injured in an accident?

Post by chi_solas on Tue Aug 24, 2010 10:45 am

Do you call for medical help & follow the routine
to not attempt to move an accident victim: would
you get the victims permission to do Reiki until
    medical help arrives? scratch

no one seems to have posted a reply to this topic.

we are not doctors. we can not do operations etc that is the job of qualified doctors. if i come across an accident victim within that golden 1 hour, my aim would be to get him medical aid. if he/she can speak and move limbs etc then i can get him/her checked at a nearby hospital myself and give reiki if he needs it.

however, if bones are broken or there is too much bleeding, i phone the emergency ask for an ambulance , then i give reiki to the situation and the victim to stop his trauma, relieve him from pain and stop bleedings i.e, internal and external. ld ask the accident victim he he would want some reiki till doctors arrived to relieve him from pain etc. if he is unconscious i would just give to the situation etcafter speaking to his higher self.main thing is to be with the accident victim till the ambulance and the team of doctors/parameds arrive.

i have done something similar a number of times so i can write here.

Assuming the emergency services have been contacted, and permission to serve the souls higher good has been granted, from one realm or another………….
I would work maybe first work on clearing the space, the trauma has yet entered the luminous field, but held within its gravitational field! working with the breath, and working on the space gently clearing the space with Reiki, it can make a huge difference to the trauma a soul can absorb, and indeed to the outcome of the event.
I would then maybe look at working eyes, directly with and to the soul, it can bring much peace and greater light, both are powerful and quick methods, to the situation, and then if appropriate, healing comfort of the touch………blessings and have a lovely weekendxxx

    Hi,

Yes you call for medical help, and if you are trained in first aid you should follow what you were taught in assessing the condition of the injured person. I will take care of the physical injuries to the extent that my training allows. Blood loss, rate of respiration, pulse rate etc, take presecedent over all else. Keep your eyes on those things first. I`m probably not going to ask for permission, because the person may want to reply with...Reiki?...Whats that? The injured party may not be into alot of questions or a lesson in eastern spiritualism in that moment. So....I`m thinking that the only Reiki they will get from me will be with the intention to keep them calm and hopefully prevent the sffects of shock from setting in too deeply. In the case of an accident victim, the body reacts the best way it knows how when having been affected by trauma. So I`m not going to try and do much accept keep the injured person as calm as possible through reiki.
Accident scenes tend to be a little stressful, there can be alot of blood and alot of other stressful factors involved. The injured party may be difficult to communicate with snd in alot of pain. Keep your cool... or get out... and let someone else take charge.

    Hi Dharma,

The last accident scene I was on involved a compund fracture and a head injury. It was raining with a 40kph wind about a half mile from a road on the side of a mountain. I had no time, and frankly the injured party required too much attention to develope "a healing space". In other words I found myself a little to busy to think of such things, and that was with help at the scene...If you take charge of an accident scene, you may not have time to think of Reiki. If there is more than one person around that is trained in first aid, let them take control of the scene, then you can be free to do what ever you think will help Reiki wise. The mountain biker that took the fall was an easy victim to deal with, his pain tolerance was good and he worked with us. Don`t always expect this from someone who is injured. Their reactions toward you can even become abusive when they are confronted with so very much pain. Be prepared for what may come, or let someone else deal with it.

hello lovely, im a mum of three, my youngest is three & my oldest does stunts on horseback, I deal with my fair share accidents, no matter how intense or panicked the situation maybe, a healing space, for so many reasons is a very powerful way to commence such important healing, are we not a channel of the energy a vessel with which it passes through for me it is integral to the healing connection for you and the person or situation you dealing with, that you are working from a place of peace. but what I was really saying was...where the situation needs healing is not always directly where can see the wound. blessings lovely

I remember when I had just gotten
    my RMT certification. My friend
and I just turned the corner into
a busy intersection. a person was
on the ground and the EMT's were
working on the person. My friend
was beside herself telling me to
go over and do Reiki. I told her
they were the first responders and
it looked like they had everything
    under control.

If I came upon an accident situation
my first reaction would be to observe
the area for safety call 911 or if
other people are around have them call
for help. I'd check the person to see
if they are conscious, depending on the
injuries I'd try to help them relax and
feel comforted until medical help arrives.
Holding a person's hand making eye contact
with a reassuring smile helps calm them.

    Jim your personal experience was
very vivid and I certainly would
be willing to let others take charge
who had more first aid experience
than I have. My CPR certification
expired when I retired. although CPR
    certification keeps changing procedures
Your point about the accident victim
not being willing to co-operate is
    very important. flower

my response here in this thread goes after what Jim has said.

Reiki is not a fix, however, for such situations... After i have contacted 1122 and m waiting for them, and have taken all measures within my reach to stop bleeding, etc, i will give reiki to her head without telling that i m doing any 'magic' to alleviate pain...

Compassion and love for the injured buddy speaks much higher than saying to him 'don't worry i m going to reiki u, u will be alright soon honey'.

    Take care

I apologize for making you feel that you needed to qualify your response. I`m a firm believer in treating the emotional damage that comes through the fear realized in the experience and the pain sensed through the injury.

I understand the importance of a healing space...I`m not exactly a newcomer to the world of Reiki, but...

A friend and i are carrying a 180lb man with his collar bone sticking out the fornt of his chest,(among other injuries0 down a muddy mountain trail in a driving rain...my mind was on things other than healing spaces. For example...TRYING TO NOT FALL DOWN

...the healing space is gonna have to wait until I`ve stopped blood loss and assess the person for shock.

    ReikiJim you have brought a
    very real picture to light.
    I've seen news flashes of
    horrific crashes that happen
due to weather and in remote
areas where one is cut off
    from emergency help. A time
    where common sense and Reiki
    can come together to help
    victims. affraid

    hey we cool!
I just wanted to point out the space around the injured soul can be really integral the the short and long term outcome of the soul and the event, working with the breath in the space around the person, is powerful healing in terms of what trauma effect can take hold. blessingsx
