A deck of cards needs some deductive
reasoning. During a game there's the
numbers and suits to watch. I never
paid much attention to the other
details, they never seem to come in
to play. How much of the familiar every
day items that we come in contact with
do we note details such as a coin in
your pocket that you might use to feed
a parking meter. Take a quick look at
the coin you use everyday. Pretend it
just flashed across the TV screen. You
recognize it, pick up as much information
as you can from this quick passing. put
the coin back in your pocket. Then write
on a piece of paper all the information
you gathered from this familiar coin. Now
check the coin and see if you got all the
details written down. How did you do? What
info did you gathered in the flash of the
    moment. sunny

The history of playing cards has
    areas of history of uncertainty
but I believe that the written
    history that exists reflects
    royality & peasantry that has
    existed through the past thousands
of years. Its amazing that these
relics of the middle ages are still
    fun and educational. king queen

The tarot cards I believe also go back
to the middle ages. They were used for
    fortune telling representing the spiritual
    & the physical. sunny

    according Lee Ann Obringer

Tarot-card History: In most people's minds, "Tarot card reading" means a woman in flowing robes, leaning over a small table in a candlelit room, foretelling impending doom. But that's not really what Tarot cards are about. In fact, they're not even really meant to tell your fortune or future. According to The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, "The most powerful sources of information come from within; the Tarot aids in coming in contact with one's Higher Self."

The first round cards were made in Persia.
In the 1920's folks found that oblong cards
were much easier to shuffle & handle king queen
