nothing wrong with ISTJ just that when
I get so many different readings I am
wondering what it is that changes the
readings. It would be intersting to do
a chakra test before each reading. bounce

    Hi,

Apparently Karl Jung and I have something in connon. We are both....

Idealist Portrait of the Counselor (INFJ)

Counselors have an exceptionally strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others, and find great personal fulfillment interacting with people, nurturing their personal development, guiding them to realize their human potential. Although they are happy working at jobs (such as writing) that require solitude and close attention, Counselors do quite well with individuals or groups of people, provided that the personal interactions are not superficial, and that they find some quiet, private time every now and then to recharge their batteries. Counselors are both kind and positive in their handling of others; they are great listeners and seem naturally interested in helping people with their personal problems. Not usually visible leaders, Counselors prefer to work intensely with those close to them, especially on a one-to-one basis, quietly exerting their influence behind the scenes.

Counselors are scarce, little more than one percent of the population, and can be hard to get to know, since they tend not to share their innermost thoughts or their powerful emotional reactions except with their loved ones. They are highly private people, with an unusually rich, complicated inner life. Friends or colleagues who have known them for years may find sides emerging which come as a surprise. Not that Counselors are flighty or scattered; they value their integrity a great deal, but they have mysterious, intricately woven personalities which sometimes puzzle even them.

I do believe this is me to a "T"...should have taken this test along time ago....Thanks John, for posting this idea.

    johnc, I was looking through
some old boxes and came across
    a book, "The Sixteen Types"
    from."Please Understand Me" by
    Keirsey & Bates copyright 1978
    Prometheus Nemesis books. In
the back of the book was.. "A
    Keirsey Temperament sorter" of
    70 questions with multible
choice. It shows my results as
ISTJ that's got to be around the
late 80's when I was enrolled in
    a Family Therapy course that
    looked at the different styles
    from Freud, Maslow, Erickson,
    Jung and many others. Smile

    Keirsey adopted the theory of
    psychological Types of Carl Jung
& Measuring Types of Isabel Myers
    (1955) typology Basketball

    Hi Bridget,

It's interesting that personality theories have been around so long and still get good traction. They are a useful tool to help understand and interact positively with each other I think through giving insight into both strengths and weaknesses.

Was there anything else intersting in your boxes? Wink

Personalities never change people are the same
down through the generations. Technology changes
the way we operate in our new life styles lol!

Yes, in that box were some written parts of that
Family Therapy course we had to do a family tree
going as far back as we can. Then we had to look
for family patterns from our family tree. We were
given family trees of famous people like,Henry Ford
etc; that had patterns like sucicide, early child
    deaths, age difference in husband/wives,divorces etc;
I had some letters from home that gathered family info. king queen

We had to write a summary of the characters from
the movie 12 angry men (1957) about an open/shut
murder case that becomes a mini drama when Henry
Fonda challenges each of the jurors prejudices &
preconceptions about the trail, and the accused
Spanish American guilty of murdering his father.
The movie takes place in the jury room lots of
drama in a one room Black/white stage afro study affraid
