    Standard Hand Positions within Treatments

Post by Lambs-Wool on Sat Jul 03, 2010 6:41 am

    hi friends...

if we look into the standard hand position set given by Takata Sensei, we may notice that majority of these positions prescribe that two hands are touching each other, eiter by sides, or if hands are across, through middle fingers....

this is interesting that QT prescribes that we 'sandwich' the area between our hands so that to 'create' a field of force in between wherein the diseased area will get speedy healing...

within reiki, we are taught that to put both hands side by side on the diseased area mostly, instead of holding the diseased area 'in-between'....

was this a message to her students by Takata Sensei, that even if they don't complete the 'energy-field' around the diseased area, the effects won't change (since, maybe, we dont creat an 'energy-field' at all during reiki Question :sutdy:

As a Reiki facilitator I use hand
    positions as guidelines.Where ever
the hands are placed they should be
    gentle and relaxed.Using my intuition
on each individual client the hands
will go to where they are needed.
Dis-ease can be mind, body & spirit. It
seems to me that healing the mind and
spirit takes place before the body heals. sunny

this we all need to understand.. while in treatments we are conscious of the body healing most of the time, we must 'allow' the space for healing of mind and spirit too... well, of course, this naturally occurs witihn tretments, but if we are mindful to this aspect too, then who knows we heal our mind and spirit too in the process cheers

i speculate that some practices are no doubt apparently more 'intense' than reiki as far as feelings and sensations are concerned, but if we take the sum total of mind, body and spirit, reiki is sure a 'complete' package

    take care
