I have a few questions for my handbook.
Mr. Deacon writes on his website that Usui-Sensei took
instructor License in his art. To clarify:
1. would this be the Menkyo Kaiden license?
2. What style did he allegedly practice? I think i read *somewhere* that it could've been Yagyua Shingan Ryu, something that O'sensei also practiced in his early days. Any ideas if this rumor is correct or if there's any other style he studied?

Re: Questions for my handbook
Hi Erik
Yes it would.
It is claimed that Usui-sense received his licence sometime in his 20's
As I mentioned in the Reiki History Timeline
[1877/78 ]
It is said by some that at the age of 12 Usui-Sensei began martial arts training - studying either 'Yagyu Ryu' or 'Yagyu Shinkage Ryu'
IMO, emphasis should perhaps be placed on:
'It is said by some'
There is indeed a (co-incidental ?) parallel with O-sensei Ueshiba's training
As I also noted in the Timeline:
[1908]
Morihei Ueshiba, in his 20's, received his Menkyo Kaiden (full license) in Gotoha Yagyu Shingan Ryu.- a martial arts style in the Yagyu Shinkage Ryu lineage
