I was thinking yesterday.. (surprised me that, hehe!)

It's about initiations.

Would you initiate someone who couldn't understand the things as most of the rest of us could? Would you initiate someone who was clearly sub-intelligent, thereby making it next to impossible to convey what the initiations entail, what they might do, what is & isn't acceptable in Reiki practice, how they might change their life. Possible healing crisis, etc, etc, etc.

Hi there,

I'm new to the forum and new to Reiki. I did Reiki level 1 a couple of months ago.

Since then I have been giving myself Reiki every day and I have really found it has helped a lot of problems. I have also given my husband and my sister Reiki. I have experienced extreme heat in my hands when giving it to them and they both felt that heat in areas where they have problems.

Earlier today, my husband had to go to bed with a severe migraine. It had started yesterday, he had taken ...

it is often said that the mind/soul heals earlier than the body, and similarly, body shows up the ailing symptoms quite later after the mind/soul has already suffered a lot, although not apparently!

Hello,

I was just reading some stuff from another site regarding Hatsurie-Ho. The article claims (Hiroshi Doi) that the version of Hatsurie ho that is widely accepted, to be of Taoist, Qi Gong origin. The information also goes on to differentiate between what Mikao Usui may have taught,(Shuyo ho)and Hatsurie Ho.

Considering that I work full time, and meditate and do reiki in the evening, it would seem that I do not have the opportunity to devote myself to researching Reiki history. ...

Hayashi Chujiro, (1870-1940) was a Japanese Navel Officer and surgeon. He put Usui's teachings into a repeatable system of hand positions and symbols so that it could be more easily taught and used. He opened the first commercial clinic in Tokyo in the early 1930's. He committed hari-kari in 1940 rather than fight in WW II. He passed his teachings onto Hawayo Takata.

I read in Helen Haberly's "Hawayo Takata's Story"

that Dr. Hayashi transitioned. That makes more sense

In all these expereinces they seem very spontaneous, and we could be forgiven for thinking that there's in fact some outside 'force' generating either for ourself or others.
Here in the great state of Massachusetts

Reiki is an acknowledged healing practice.

Does your local law include Reiki ?

If it does do you want to share it here on RLL.

Wayne the last paragraph brought my attention

to what was mentioned on the Takata thread.

I wondered if Hawaii had these laws in effect

in 1941.

Reiki and MASS Law

MA REIKI LEGISLATION for MA Reiki practitioners: Bill Number: # SB2258

As of 2005, this is the law

under which we practice.

While Reiki is recognized and many do practice it to meet their spirituall needs I am wondering what if stressed western man (that happened to believe in evolution) wants to learn reiki just as “modern tool” to cope with dailyy stress but is not ready to learn reiki history (which may or may not be accurate after all) and the question(s) here is:

1.Would you accept such a student?

2.Would Reiki still work for him, since some suggest that while the person to receive reiki doesn't have ...

hi there!

we have had certain discussions on the points that when we do reiki, symbols are activated on a sub-conscious levels even when we dont apparently choose to draw one or all of them...

my question here is exactly which symbol gets activated first in the process....

some possible thoughts :

HSZSN is activated first of all, since once it establishes connecction, rest of symbols follow to do their respective work

OR

no, no, CKR is activated first of all, since unless ...

Before Dr Usui created the Reiki system

what was available for self healing.

From my perspective their was always

hands on healing. We did not have a

name for it. It appears to me that we

have used our hands to sooth newborns

the injuried and to comfort those in

distress. For babies we have used a

combination of holding and tapping at

the same time.

What makes Dr Usui's system different

from the ancient natural hands on used

since time began?

In the notes attributed to Harue Kanemitsu, a level 2 student of Takata sensei, Takata sensei is said to have spoke in-course ' She said we would never lose our healing power, except if we were to try and teach REIKI to another.....'.

There's a trend among some Reiki folk not to train more than a couple of Master students. I used to think this is prob cause of 'quality control'. Perhaps there's another reason, maybe one that's been passed on innocently now, that even some practitioners aren't ...
